Well, sure – I know that God is here - he's everywhere all the time, so he must be here too, right?  Sometimes we can “know” God is here, but we don’t “KNOW” God is here – we aren’t experiencing his presence.

God’s word shows us all sort of examples of people, just living their lives, at the moment they realize, maybe even for the first time that they are in the presence of God.  That he is here.  One day a woman came up to Jesus while he was just sitting waiting for his friends by a well on the side of the road.  She didn’t know who he was, but he asked her for a drink of water and they started to talk. But after just a few moments together, this woman understood that Jesus knew her whole story, who she really was, and that he accepted and loved her.  In a moment she knew that “God is Here”.  And it changed her life!

And she’s not the only one.  Peter was just fishing on the beach, Martha was getting ready for dinner, Jacob was running away from home, the Prodigal Son was running back home and Paul was riding hard on his horse, hunting down Christians to persecute them – when each of them experienced that same moment, when they realized that God was right there with them and that he loves them, and accepts them, and has the best plan for them.  When we realize that GOD IS HERE, with us, right now, wherever we are, and whatever our circumstance, it is a moment to hold on to and not let pass by.
